Leahmarie (Conlin) Hofer, 39, a Cartwright, ND resident formerly of Williston and Fargo, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at her home in Cartwright from her fight with cancer, with her family present.

Leahmarie Conlin was born on July 9, 1969 to William “Bill” and Sharon Conlin in Williston, N.D. Leah graduated from Trenton High School in 1987.

Leah attended the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton from 1987-1989, getting her degree in Management. She began her management career in clothing, and later property management, quickly and successfully moving up in her career.

Leah was united in marriage to Kory Hofer of West Fargo, ND, on February 19, 2000. Leah and Kory lived in West Fargo for several years before moving to Cartwright, ND to live closer to her family and enjoy their many favorite outdoor activities. Leah’s greatest pride and joy was bringing her daughters Scout, 6 and Samara, 4 into the world and enjoyed spending every moment with them.

Leah was very active in the Catholic Church, and enjoyed being involved in the community. After her diagnosis with cancer, she worked diligently with the Relay for Life and other cancer awareness groups. Leah’s courage and strength in the face of her struggle with this disease was inspiring.

Leah was a mover and a shaker. She liked to make things happen and never let anything or anyone stop her from achieving her goals. She had a gift for bringing people together. She was generous with her time and her heart, and would always make time to visit friends and relatives.

Leah is survived by her husband, Kory, and daughters Scout and Samara of Cartwright; her parents, William “Bill” and Sharon Conlin of Williston; brother, Pete Conlin and spouse, Jan, of Bismarck, ND; grandmother Ethel (Pete) Conlin of Williston; many aunts and uncles, niece and nephews; and numerous cousins.
