Naomi Burley, 76, a longtime Williston resident, passed away Wednesday morning, July 7, 2010, at the Mercy Medical Center in Williston.
Naomi Ruth Tipton was born January 14, 1934 in Broadus, Montana to William and Ruth (Yarger) Tipton. She was raised and educated in the Broadus area.
On August 18, 1950 she was united in marriage to Areld (Art) Burley in Broadus. They made their home in Williston, ND, where they raised their family.
Naomi worked at Dee Bee’s Clothing and J.C. Penney’s as a sales clerk. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting and bird watching.
She is survived by her children, Ryan (Birdie) Burley of Williston, ND, Kevin (Deb) Burley of Jamestown, ND and Deborah (Paul) Peterson of Lompoc, CA; eight grandchildren, Kris (Kelly) Skelton, Kurt (Stacy) Burley, Farron Christianson, Jason Christianson, Dustin (Chelsea) Christianson, Amber (fiancé Jeremy Hiatt) Christianson, Josh (Jeannie) Burley and Jake Burley; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Willis (Marg) Tipton of Billings, MT; a sister, Beth Schneidt of New Castle, WY; brother-in-law, Morris Gedrose of Great Falls, MT; sister-in-law, Joyce Tipton of Broadus, MT; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Ethel Zuehlsdorff of Rock Springs, WY; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Tipton; her husband, Areld (Art) Burley; three brothers, Ralph, Buck and Clarence Tipton; and two sisters, Marcella Zabrowski and Francis Gedrose.

Her funeral will be celebrated Monday afternoon, July 12, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Everson Memorial Chapel in Williston. Rev. Martin Mock will officiate.

Friends may call at the Everson Funeral Home of Williston Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.

Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
