Carl B. Long, 47, of Williston, died Thursday afternoon, July 29th 2010 at the Trinity Medical Center in Minot.
Carlton B. Long was born November 5, 1962 in Rhode Island, the son of Covertt G. Long Jr. and June (Ackey) Long. Carlton resided most of his life in the Williston area but also resided for a short time in Westby, MT and Orem, UT.
Carl completed most of his schooling in Williston.
Shortly after high school Carl enlisted in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood.
After his military service Carl worked on the rigs in the oilfield. He later was involved in the health care field in Utah. Since returning to Williston he spent the majority of his time working in apartment maintenance and most recently driving a taxi for Basin Cab in Williston.
He spent free time watching sporting events and visiting with friends. He also liked playing cards.
Carl is survived by his two brothers, Mike (Kimberly) Long of Elk Ridge, UT and Corey (Jodi) Long of Spokane, WA; his sister, JoAnn (Jay) Christensen of Florida; step-mother, Rebecca Long of Spokane, WA; two step-brothers, Kenneth (Barb) Bachmeier of Spokane, WA and Valentine Bachmeier of Evansville, IN; step-sister, Karen (John) Marshall of Fargo, ND; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and three uncles, D.K. Long of Williston, Tim Knutson of Williston and Rodney Knutson of Stevensville, MT.
Preceding Carl in death were his mother and father; all of his grandparents, and a brother, Steven Long.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning, August 3, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church by Father Dennis Schafer.
An Evening Vigil will be held Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Everson Memorial Chapel.

Friends are welcome to call at Everson Funeral Home Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
