Robert E. Mattingley, 80, of rural Bainville, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday morning, June 1, 2010.
Robert Eugene Mattingley was born to Albert and Maude (Lowe) Mattingley in Williston, North Dakota on March 18, 1930. He was raised and educated in Bainville, MT.
On December 6, 1950, Robert was united in marriage to Deliva Pippenger, at Wolf Point, MT. The couple was always together, for the sixty years of their marriage, the only time that they were apart was during brief hospital stays.
Robert had a great love of animals, especially horses, he was an avid horseman and had a way of understanding them, he broke many horses for his friends and neighbors in the area. He was also an accomplished carpenter and he did all of his own machine work.
Surviving Robert are his wife of sixty years, Deliva of rural Bainville, MT; two sons, Robert (Carol) of Menoken, ND, and Timothy (Jaci) of Velva, ND; one daughter, Bonnie (Craig) Johnson of Wasilla, AK; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nephew Jamie (Candy) TeSoro of Williston.
Preceding Robert in death were his parents; two brothers, Raymond and Bernard; two sisters, Bessie DeTienne and Bulah Beauchene; and one infant brother.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Everson Funeral Home Memorial Chapel at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 12, 2010.
