Darell W. Traxinger, 61, of Trenton, North Dakota passed away at his home, early Monday morning, June 11, 2012.

Darell Wayne Traxinger was born on March 3rd 1951 in Hayes, Kansas to Bernard and Catherine (Kline) Traxinger. He attended school in Selfridge North Dakota & graduated from McLaughlin High School in McLaughlin, South Dakota. He enlisted into the Marines right after high school.

In 1977 he married Jane (Mutch) LaDue in Trenton, North Dakota where they resided for 35 years. Together they raised 3 daughters, Colleen, Laurie & Tammy. Throughout his life he worked various construction jobs as a heavy equipment operator, he was a business owner as well as owner/operator of an 18 wheeler.

Of all the many hobbies and interests his favorite was team roping with all his friends and his horse, Dan. His most cherished moments were spending time with his family and friends.

Darell is survived by his wife, Jane Traxinger, Trenton; his daughters, Colleen Hokanson, Trenton and her children, Lacey (Travis) Cote and their children, Haley & Ethan, Williston, Levi Rider and his daughter, Heartley, Trenton, Logan Rider, Trenton; Laurie Briscoe, Jacksonville, Florida and her children, Darin, Kevin & Christopher; Tammy (Wade) Slater, Williston and their children, Wyatt, Quade & LaDessa; his mother, Catherine Traxinger, McLaughlin, SD; his brother, Bryant (Marlene) Traxinger, McLaughlin, SD; his sister, Melody (Dale) Heid, Beulah, ND; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; he was also blessed with numerous dear friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard and several aunts and uncles.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Williston on Friday afternoon, June 15, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. by Father Tom Richter.

The Rosary will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Family and friends may call at Everson Funeral Home Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until noon and at the church for the hour preceding the funeral.

Interment will follow in Trenton Cemetery.
