I thank GOD for the life of Doris Hering . . . As people come and go over time, few make such an impact as she . . . Doris and I worked together at the Northwest Human Resource Center in the 1970s and 1980s -- she as Dr. Rancier's nurse and right hand, and me, the receptionist/secretary. Doris was a mother-figure and nurse to all -- clients and staff -- and solidified those relationships by her genuine attention, interest, and love. She frequently lavished us with baked goods and veggie trays from her kitchen. I still covet her recipes -- As a matter of fact, her Beaumonde Veggie Dip is in my refrigerator!
Everyone knew the love of her life was LeRoy, as she spoke so fondly of him, her children, and her siblings. I believe the last time I spoke to her was when LeRoy passed. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to tell her how much she meant to me and thanked her. I'd heard later that she left Williston.
May the Lord bless and comfort her family, and may the testimony of her life bring strength to those she leaves behind to follow her extraordinary example.
"If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, My servant will be as well. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him." John 12:26
Joyfully His, Shannon Muessman

To the Hering family,
I met Doris when Aaron and Kyle played baseball. She was a kind and caring lady. We shared a laugh when she learned that I thought Homer (her brother-in-law) was her husband because they were together at the ball games.
Treasure your memories.

My condolences to all of you. I always liked going to visit "Auntie" Doris. I know Sylvia always enjoyed times when she'd stay at the house in MN. Those two made the best Carmel rolls ever. I had never seen so many, counters full. I remember a very pretty Afghan Doris made for Sylvia. I know her absence leaves a hole in all your hearts.
