Due to the covid-19 restrictions, a private Funeral Service celebrating Lenny’s life will be held and a Public Graveside Committal Service with Military Rites will be Friday morning, May 29, 2020 at Hillside Memory Gardens in Williston at (approximately) 11:45 AM.

Leonard “Lenny” Haug Jr., 69, our loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and special friend, passed away at Essentia Health on Friday, morning, May 22, 2020 in Fargo, ND. Lenny was a longtime Williston resident, who retired in Harvey, ND in 2013.

Lenny was born October 13, 1950 to Leonard Sr. and Corinne (Carlson) Haug in Williston. He was raised and educated in Grenora, ND and was drafted to serve his country in the US Army in 1970 stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.

Lenny was united in marriage to Leanne Mitchell on Aug. 29, 1969 in Williston. They established their home in Williston, where they raised their family. After retirement in 2013, they moved to Harvey.

Lenny loved to be surrounded by his family and spending time outdoors with them camping, fishing and hunting. He lived his life sharing the values of hard work, integrity and family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who instilled his passion for these things in all who he loved. Lenny worked as a master auto mechanic his entire career in the Williston area including Westland, OK Tire, and Home of Economy. He loved his wife, children, family and friends. Lenny will be forever carried in our hearts and missed by many.

Lenny is survived by his four children, Nichole Solway (Craig) of Harwood,ND, Michelle Elletson (Brady) of Williston, ND, Leonard Haug III of Moorhead, MN, and Ryan Haug (Merri) of West Fargo, ND; ten grandchildren, Destiney, Summer, Gunner, Lexee, Siena, Onika, Hayley, Hunter, Kirsten and Amanda; one great-grandchild, Jaxon; three sisters, Lorene Akovenko,
Cora Jean Shupe, and Sherry Gooch; two brothers, Orlyn Haug and Glenn Haug; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Leanne; parents, Leonard and Corinne Haug.
