Raymond Viall, 80, of Ray, passed away at his home, under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family on Thursday evening, October 15, 2020.
In keeping with Ray’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and services will be held at a later date.
Raymond J. Viall was born on March 28, 1940, the son of Vernon and Rebecca (Posey) Viall in Tampa, Florida. When he was 5 years old, they moved to Ray, North Dakota and he attended school there until the age of 16. At that time, he decided to start work in the oil field and served in the National Guard.
He started driving semi-trucks for Jacobson Lumber for a few years. Then the North Slope in Alaska opened up and he went up there to drive truck for the oil company. Finally in 1970, he started working for Great Northern Railroad until he retired.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Rhonda, Monte, and Robin; grandchildren, Tyler, Brady (Dawn), Britne, Hannah, and Brock; sisters, Rita Neary, Joyce Garaas; brothers, Ronald and Larry; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death is his infant daughter and his parents, Vernon and Becky.
